DANVERS ARCHIVAL CENTER at the PEABODY INSTITUTE LIBRARY
The Archival Center houses a diverse collection of two–dimensional materials that relate to the history of Salem Village and Danvers from the 17th century to the present. Books, manuscripts, maps, photographs, newspapers and other materials are available to anyone interested in finding out more about Salem Village witchcraft, any aspect or era of Danvers history, local architecture, and local genealogy. Interested persons are urged to call, email or visit us during our open hours.
HISTORIC BEVERLY
Historic Beverly has been preserving and caring for Beverly’s past since 1891. The 1781 John Cabot House has been their headquarters since 1892, and is home to a collection of nearly a million objects and documents related to Beverly and the North Shore of Massachusetts
MARBLEHEAD MUSEUM
The Marblehead Museum Archives are housed at 170 Washington Street. Available to scholars and researchers, the Archives are a treasure trove of personal papers, books, journals, genealogical materials, building histories, and over 20,000 photographs. Collection highlights include documents related to the 18th and 19th shipping and fishing industries, as well as the local shoemaking industry.
LYNN MUSEUM AND HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Originally located in a residential building on Green Street, the Museum is now housed in the former Heritage State Park Visitor Center, a unique loft space that reflects the city’s industrial past. Its new home is the ideal setting for the Museum to display its extensive collection of fine art, photography, furniture, textiles, ephemera, archival materials and other authentic artifacts through innovative changing exhibitions. Steeped in Lynn’s rich heritage, the Museum tells the compelling stories of manufacturing, industry, labor, abolitionism, women’s rights and more that have shaped our nation. The Lynn Museum houses an amazing photograph collection spanning from the 19th century to present day.
